Charlie StarrettCharlie Starrett, DTM, of Rosebank, New South Wales, Australia, is a horticulturalist for Coates Horticulture in Lismore, New South Wales. He helped develop the first macadamia farm in Australia to receive Best Farms Accreditation for sustainability in production and environmental conservation. In 2009, he received the Best Practice Environmental Award from the Byron Shire Council for his energy-efficient design and construction of a post-harvest facility.

A dedicated Toastmaster for eight years, Starrett is a member of two clubs, including the Byron Cavanbah club in Bryon Bay, New South Wales, Australia. He has held a number of prominent leadership positions within the organization and has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation—the highest level of achievement in Toastmasters.

“Toastmasters has given me the opportunity to experience, understand and continually refine my leadership skills in a wide variety of settings and across cultures,” he says.
